Heroes 3.5
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 was very enjoyable, but many people wanted more ... these russians worked out how to produce it. New creatures, new special abilities, new objects, new animations - and an event system that just works magic. A whole unofficial expansion pack, really! There are a lot of screenshots demonstrating achievements to date, both at the above site and at this site.

The main english site is now at StrategyPlanet, together with quite a bit of the story behind what they're doing and the things they're trying to do ... as at 23 November 2001 they have released a fully-fledged add-on. Tide people over til HOMM4? Possibly - but I suspect it'll be worth playing alongside HOMM4. I mean - check out the stuff you can do with those scripts!

Many of the hero portraits used come from a french site called Modhomm3 - the programmers having teamed up some time ago. Check out both sites, make a duplicate Shadow of Death installation on your hard disk, and have fun!

Dungeon's Keeper
A site with a long history of supporting Heroes 3, the folk at Dungeon's Keeper have collected numerous screenshots, renders, and other pictures and information about HOMM4. It seems safe to expect them to provide very good support for Heroes 4.

Tournament of Honour
Tournament of Honour is a site where you can find opponents and play Heroes multiplayer games. They have a very pretty interface and an impressive track record, covering thousands or tens of thousands of games, stretching back three years.

Attal - Lords of Doom
Attal, Lords of Doom is a game under development under the GNU General Public Licence; we mention it in these links because the rules of Attal mimic those of Heroes of Might and Magic (3) in the same way that the rules of Freeciv mimic those of Civilization. And, like freeciv, Attal is freely available for both Linux and Windows.

Just one small problem. The game isn't finished yet. As at September 2002, they're on version 0.6.

Archangel Castle
Archangel Castle is a fairly extensive Heroes of Might and Magic site, covering Heroes 2, 3, and 4. One catch; most of it's in French. Much of the HOMM3 material is also present in english.

World Online Nation
World Online Nation, or WON for short, covers a handful of games. The Heroes3 arm of the site, launched in mid 2003, is intended for multiplayer gaming; it records and rewards internet games.

Equilibris
Equilibris is a community-made mod for Heroes of Might and Magic IV. It is primarily intended for people with Winds of War, but some allowance has been made for people with Gathering Storm or the original HOMM IV.

Equilibris sets out to re-balance the towns and creatures of HOMM IV.
